Hi all,

I'm going to upgrade my tank from a 55g to a 75g or 90g (haven't decided which size yet). Any thoughts on which type of overflow would be better? I've heard pre-drilled tanks may be noisy and the box takes up room inside of the tank. Any other cons of a pre-drilled tank? Any of these boxes ever come unglued? I guess the upside to a pre-drilled tank is that you do not need to attach an overflow box and pump to the top of the tank and ... anything else? Please provide some insight oh wise ones.

Thanks,
Pete

I would get a drilled tank over a non-drilled tank. The hang on overflows are known to stop siphoning at one time.

I have not heard of a overflow boxes coming "unglued".

P.S. - Welcome to RDO.

It is possible, and it is a reflection of poor workmanship. However, it must be rare, since I never heard anyone have that happened.
