Hi everyone,

I've been planning this set-up for about a year and was supposed to have completed it last September, until we decided to move. This is pretty much my first big tank, at least by my standards :D

Here's a full shot:

KISS method? Yeah, right.

I wanted to avoid having any powerheads in the tank, which would look really funny in a cube. So, I decided to 'keep it simple' and have all 4 returns double as wavemakers as well.

The space in the stand was a bit challenging to work with:

I'd like to thank my good friend Bryan for all his help with planning and plumbing. No way I could have done this without him.

Wow nice work, are you going to cram all those limited edition corals you seem to have in there?? :)

If a tank's birthday is considered the day you put water in it, than the DOB is February 17th. I admit, that I added inhabitants too fast, but wanted to make sure I got the tangs in there around the same time:

The clam was kind of pissed about going in there, too.

Thanks, Mike! Since this is a whole new rockscape, I'll be starting over with frags again.

Absolutely kickass, Karl!!!

I can 'temporarily' house any frags until it's ready, you know...got plenty of room...

;)

Peace,

Chip

Dude, Karl, gonna be a nice tank! I hope you skip the entire algae phase like I'm going through (I've gone through about 5 stages already). Good news is coralline is beginning to fight through now :)

Thanks, guys!

Chip - If you were local, you can have your pick of what's not going in there.

Len - Yeah, gotta keep my fingers crossed. The tank was started entirely of Nutri-SeaWater. Tried to get Catalina, but delivery was just too expensive. So, a wholesaler hooked me up with the live water for less than $1 a gallon.

All of the live rock, with the exeption of two, were cooked in my garage for over 3 months. I also got hooked up with Nature's Ocean Live Sand. I'm hoping this sort of start will minimize algae blooms.

Nice! Now I wished I had come out for that reflector!

How are those tangs treating each other?

I was hoping you and Gresham would have come up for it :D

The tangs are okay so far. Lots of displaying, but no ones tried to inflict any real harm. They were introduced only a day apart. There was also an Achilles Tang, but he didn't make it. He would only eat Macro-Feast, but never put on weight :(

Speaking of reflector, I sprung a little extra on some tempered starfire glass as the Lumenarc lens. Figured if the tanks is starfire, why stop there:
