I just can't get over how cool your rocks are. I should say the whole tank, really. I really, really like the look of the higher peaks you accomplished with the rocks. The way your tank looks from the side of the middle picture from your last pic post is my favorite! I'm still trying to find a way to something like that in my tank but 18" of depth can still be a bit constricting! Also, like ranger said, the tank's clean appeal is awesome! :D

When I searched for other cubes to get ideas on how to landscape mine, it seemed that others also had difficulty doing something creatively different. If it's not a fruitstand, it's a tower of rock in the center.

So far, the simplicity is working. There's not a whole lot of rock, but I'm able to maximize the surface are by being able to mount corals on either side and the top of the 3 islands. The switching returns, flow directly through the channels between and surrounding the islands. All the right angles help to bounce around the current as well. :D

Hey Karl, looking good. Are you using mainly large single pieces of LR for your reef or are they groups of smaller pieces? It looks like you just got some really nice large pieces and that gives the tank a great look. BTW, if you lost your idaho grape I'd be happy to send you a frag as soon as the piece you gave me is big enough to break up. Just let me know if you'd like it.

I tried to find the largest rocks I had. Most of them were cooking in my garage for about 6 months. There are 10 pieces altogether.

I did lose my Idaho Grape when I burned it under the 400W. I really appreciate the offer, Loren, but I'm not sure if I want to add one this time. That thing just grows too fast :P

Yup! These things are cool. I can't wait until they're covered in coralline.

Hey Karl, did you get my reply to your last PM? Just checking, because I definitely replied to the one before that and you didn't receive it.

Peace,

Chip

I really suck at taking pictures, but got lucky with this one. This is the Purple Monster. A 2nd generation frag from Len's colony. To give you an idea of how slow this thing grows, it took 15 months to grow this from a 1/4" nub :?

hey bro,

you inspire me to upgrade to a larger tank. Those chromis add a nice touch to the environment too. Your tank looks better than the coral reefs in Jamaica :D Talk to you later!!
