Ive had this unit for about 5 years. I forget what the GPD is, but it was pretty high at the time. I've replces the sediment filter and the carbon block. LFS says that my TDS is very good (low). How long does the actual RO membrane last? Is it possible that after 5 years, mine is still ok? Keep in mind, I dont change water as much as I should and I got lazy for a while (2 years) and bought water from my LFS.

Also, they have been adding chloromines(sp?) to my local tap. Is one carbon block enough to scrub this, or should I upgrade the filter?

Thanks!
Jeff

the best way to test if your ro filter membrane is still good is a tds meter, total disolved solids. if it reads too high then you should replace the membrane. i think most online fish stores sell this type of meter, it is not too expensive.
