Lo and behold! I took out the inactive inlet pipe for my closed loop system and found a clutch of eggs being tended by one of my three royal grammas. Any chance that any of the young would survive if I moved the egg mass to my refugium?

I'm ready to put my redesigned cls in and these eggs are right smack in the way. I know the young won't surive in the display tank, but even so I'm reluctant to just discard the eggs in order to install the new cls.

Here's some pictures of the egg mass and the royal gramma doing some fanning and other tending processes.

It'd sure be nice to have this spawning result in some thriving juveniles. Any chance?

There is a fair amount of algae growing in the area where the eggs are. I've been working on gettting my algae under control, so I cropped the green stuff out of these pictures. I guess it was ready made for the eggs.

Prior to my taking out the prototype inlet pipe for my new closed loop system, this area where the eggs are, was really pretty well hidden in the corner of the tank behind the 1 1/2" pipe.

Do you think there's any chance any of the fry would survive if I move them to the refugium?
