Alright guys lets see them mixed reefs. I am planning that for my new tank and would like some ideas on corals. My plan is LPS, SPS, calms and possible an anemone. NO Softies, polyps or 'shrooms.

Thanks

What kind of flow do you have on that tank?

Is that a Hydor attached to the end of loc-line da colts? - What'd you use to connect that?

yes it's a hydor connected directly to lock line, if you have the old style loc line the hydor will connect right to it with no attachment. the old style loc line has a larger return hole. if you have a new style loc line you can still make it work. just take the largest attachment and slit 1 side of it so you can adjust the size to the smaller loc line and thats all there is to it. i have 4 hydor on the tank right now and thats all of the flow i have at this moment because powerheads are UGLYYYYYYYY and put off heat. i have since ordered the vortech wave pump but i will still leave the hydors on the tank, they have been on there 2 years and still counting.

Hey Da Colts, nice tank. Since you've had those Hydor's for such a long time now, is there any cleaning or anything you have to do to keep them moving? I've had one for a couple months now and love it, but every once in a while it will get stuck and make a loud noise. I take it off and rinse it and try to move it a little with my hands, then put it back on. Is there any good way you've found to keep them working? TIA

hey bleed, it says that it will handle 312gph but i have personally seen them handle quite a bit more. as far as keeping them running, when they get algae covered wether they are spinning or not, i take them off and soak them in bleach over night and then rinse them off real well and put them back on. on occasion, 1 or 2 may stop spinning, if that happens i just take them apart and clean them good, most of the time i have found a small snail or a limpet inside.

ANEMONEBUFF & jent46bow,

I love the open, split rockwork you two have. It's nice when reefists break away from the usual fruitstand look.
