got my first ro/di unit. was surprised to find out that there is a constant stream of waste water while running (3-1 over filtered output). do all units run this way?
you are correct. There has to be at least 3:1 waste to good water. The waste water actually acts as a conduit for the DS to escape. A highway for the dirty stuff to ride on.. right out of your system.
When I bought my RODI unit a few years ago it kinda shocked me too, but it made absolutely NO diff in my water bill (since im measured by the 1k gallons i think), and it makes GREAT water for plants! Some people even run it into their hot water tanks.
Glad you picked up an RODI.. you'll be glad you did.
BTW i have a 36" PC FIxture for sale in the approp. forum
