Been slow today. However, I went to the LFS today and was talking to the owner and he mentioned to me that collection in Hawaii is coming to a close for 10 years. Have you heard anything about that?
I purchased three of them when they were extremely small. I lost one within 6 months. The other two didn't do all that much squabbling that I saw. I was prepared for a battle royal, from everything I had read. They are holy terrors with any other fish that dares invade their corner of the tank.
The new tank isn't done yet, no pics. But I have pics of Buck, the naked clown, in his nano and a shot of the 55 that will house 3 Hippocampus kellogi hopefully this weekend. Not great pics, sorry.
I woke up this morning and my LTA had moved to a new position in the tank. The tank has only been set up a few short weeks, (I recently moved) so I suppose I should not be suprised that he is taking initiative to settle elsewhere, but this guy usually stays wherever I put him.
However, I really love where he decided to go, front and center of the tank. I gave him a big breakfast of silversides to show him what a great place that is to live. Hopefully he stays there.
Well, I would post some of mine, but I just added my live rock, so basically I'd show you some pics of cured rock that doesn't have much going on minus the small fish I got in there. Once I get my light (UPS Tomorrow) I'll be throwing up 560 watts in my tank. Maybe I'll keep all my pics from my first two rocks up until I get it going good. Will be interesting once I get it going but right now I'm at the beginning stages. Still fun though.
I just removed a crapload of red slime. Looks like I'll need to start getting some RO water from the local WallyMart. Carbon doesn't seem to touch it, and there's barely any waste in the tank, so it must be coming from the tap. I've been avoiding spending money on that, so I guess I'll have to wait until I can buy an RO unit.
