I know my bud Duane is out there maybe he will pipe in.

I am in the process of setting up my 1st calcium reactor Geo model. I have the reactor, co2 regulator the media and the Ehiem pum that will recirculate the water in the reactor.

As this is my first reactor I need some input on what type of pump I need to use to draw water from my sump to feed the ractor. I emailed George at GEO but have not heard back yet. The directions mentioned a aqualifter pump and that was fine until I went to my LFS and the aqualifters they had were these dinky little, what appeared to be some type of pump that you would have seen in the ole days for powering airstones.

Do any of you own a GEO or other brand? and if so what is going to be the best, easiest no fuss no muss pump to use. Keeping in mind the whole purpose of the reactor to begin with is to eliminate all the hassle with maintaining calc and alk levels with out the hassle of dosing all the time.

What pump do you folks recommend????

Well, we shall see what owners of this reactor have to say about the recommended pump, but you know that a calcium reactor does not have very much flow going through it at all. Just a trickle. It would make sense to me to have a dinky little pump feeding it.

I use an Aqualifter for my Ca reactor. It is a perfect pump for reactors. Yes, it's dinky, but you don't need much flow into the reactor. The Aqualifter is a nice design since it will draw water in from different heights; plumbing is a cinche.

Any input from others about how tough it was to dial yours in???

I use a jetstream but also use a aqualifter to feed it.....it does a nice job at keeping a steady pressure on the line so the drip rate doesnt slip at all.
