This is actually a good thing. I though I was having micro-bubble issues and was planning to redo my sump until I really look at them. Should I worry about this? Will it eventually clear up due to skimming and wate changes. Should I get somthing to try to filter them out? If so what?

Nope, particulats. I got lots of surface agitation and skimming. I got the film you mentioned in my sump. I scoop that out.

I have a lot of that, too. You could try a filter sock, but it's a pain in the but constantly switching and cleaning them on a weekly basis.

I've got the Particulates From Hell on my new tank, nothing and I mean nothing seems to get rid of them. But for most tanks it's not a problem. If you really want to get rid of them, there's a bunch of ways that mostly work. Filter socks, a magnum canister running a micron cartridge, even a simple aquaclear power filter. Chemically you can try Kent Marine's Pro-Clear if you want, which clumps the particulates. I've used it, it is reef safe.

Mine's a poopy tang thing :D

Poop bombs. Always happens when he gets fed. The turning around to try and eat it is real attractive too.
