Hey guys. Don't worry about it. I would prefer people to say it how it is as long as their information is based on fact. It's actually one of the reasons I came to this Forum. I thought people provided useful and honest opinions beneficial to all in the hobby. FWIW, I'm harder on my self than anyone here could possibly be. I think the guy that shipped my rock was cracking up with his buddies (maybe not, but it made me laugh thinking that).

I do think that an argument could be made about bacteria being everywhere in the rock regardless of density (maybe not at the center of mine though  ). I did find a really good LFS who stocks 5 different kinds of LR. $10 a lb, but it looked really nice. When this stuff is cured I'll be heading over there.

Now that my skimmer is up and running the rock is looking very good. Lots of stuff on the rocks, some sponges that look nice too.

Just wanted to say thanks again for everyones help. Much appreciated.

dense rock is expensive / lb.. has les room for nitrification (surface area), and is much more difficult to break haha.

Hmm it could be that the rock is more dense inside because it is geologically still young. Just a thought. I can say however that for now on I will be buying live rock from this place in the Keys I saw in a thread on here.
