Hey Guys, I just moved up to the Portland Oregon area and I'm wondering if there are any fellow reefers here? Do you know of any groups? I was going to email Steve Weast to see if he knows of any but I thought I'd try here first.

Darn, I guess I'll see you in a few years then :D Maybe I'll actually have a house by then! I agree with you totally. This place is so pritty, relaxed, and cheap  It's the best kept secret!

:) Might want to wait until the end of the rainy season (late next June) before rendering your final judgment.

:) :)

Yeah...I'll take rain over heat any day of the week. In Chico California summer starts in May and ends in October. Half the year it's over 90 and for three months it's over 100. 1-3 weeks of spring and fall only :? I am fully aware that we moved during the best months in Portland, and am ready for months of overcast and rain. BRING IT ON!

It isn't nearly as bad as people make it out to be as far as rain goes. It rains in the winter. Rains everywhere else in the winter too. As far as it being a nice kept secret...I hate oregon, it is a terrible place. All californians should get out while they can. Run...RUN....RUUUUUUNNNNN!!!!!!

hehehehe

Hehe that's what most people are saying up here.

I went to the PNWMAS's website and it looks like a good group. I don't think I'll go to the BBQ today because my husband and I are currently unemployed and tight on cash.

Where do you think most Oregonians came from :D

FWIW, here in Santa Cruz, CA, we don't have the major heat problem, nor the major rainy problem. Heck it doesn't snow. Traffic sucks, electiricity cost sucks, but I can PUMP my own gas

Every place has it's pro's and con's ;) Too many hippies, too high of housing cost, too rainy, too sunny, etc.

Apples and oranges, both are fruits, just like OR and CA :D

FWIW, I've lived in Eugene for a spell, didn't like it. Live in Oakland, didn't like it. I always end up back in Santa Cruz, despite the hippies/housing and traffic woes
