An interesting thread on coral feeding

Just thought I would post this for the SPS lovers out there. I was pretty impressed with the growth in the first pics.

Your probably right.. Ill sum it up for everyone..
Some guy has been feeding his corals pureed oysters (jars from store) and a health food supplement (GLN). His growth rate from one month was phenomenal. I just thought it was an interseting read, not worth having to work for though.

there's a whole bunch of italian reefers that are using HGH on corals (something i find from a philosophical pov reprehensible, and childish) and who get unbelievable growth rates

but that's like claiming props for growing a super huge pumkin w/gibberelin

(has a lot less to do with actual skill,and true reefkeeping than it does with using a cheat trick )

there is something to be said for amino acid additions, etc., and making sure corals get the proper types of foods/elements, i just think we should try to emulate a more natural way of doing so-that's where the true challenge (and hence the more/greater and real reward is

I can agree with the natural way. I feed seafood puree, do regualr water changes and watch my tank alot and feel like I have great growth without any extra supplementing. Im definately not in this hobby to win any growth rate contests.
