Thanks. He eats like a horse and has been going strong since Novemeber 5th. No great accomplishment by any means, but so far so good.

That is coral line. In my tank it is a real light purple....

They are feather dusters. Harmless filter feeders.

Oh your talking about on the black overflow part right?? I think that may be a type of coral line, but not positive..

How long have you had your derasa? Nice clam, I love mine.

How does that Hydorflo thing work for you. I have one on my nano and it stops every other day or so.

Thank you. I have had it since August. When he closes up it exposes the white part(new growth). He has grown pretty good so far.

As for the hydor I started with one around may, and never had any problems with it. I added two others and they have help up really good. I persoanlly have not had them stick on me. My plan is every 4 - 6 months to take them out and clean them along with the maxi jet..
