oceanic 33 gallon cube, are the sides drillable?

I think the bottom is tempered, but the sides are not.
So they are drillable. I think ;-)

My LFS is trying to verify, but I thought I would post and ask.
Has anyone owned a oceanic 33 gallon cube and drilled the sides?

Yeah, I know people that had theirs drilled. I hear you can use polarized sunglasses and you can tell if glass is tempered or not. I think Bingo told me that.

what do you look for when viewing the glass thru polarized glasses....

It's supposed to look like spider webs when it's tempered. PM Bingo, because I'm pretty sure he's the one that told me about it.

If you have a pair of polorized glasses, look at the back window of a car. It's definately tempered. You can see a pattern (mostly a series of dots). Now take a look at the tank. If you can see any pattern it's tempered.

10-4 on Drilling the Oceanic Cube...

I did it, and it works (in the words of Borat) very naaaaice ...

everything worked out great. aquaaddicts in salem NH did a fine job.
a 1" hole near the top in the middle for the overflow hole.
two 3/4" returns on each side with a squid thingy to have the returns
work one at a time.

now just waiting for my ehiem pump to arrive. i wish to have my
pump in the sump, and it was a reasonable choice upon research.
