The C.earleis, C.rhomboids, and Terelabrus are dead.
For some reason, water was splashed on my Aquacontroller and it shorted the temperature monitor. The temperature seems to have defaulted to 20.0 F. So my heater kicked on and stayed on while my chiller stayed eternally dormant. The halides were on as scheduled. When I got home from work today, the tank temp was 104. Yes, 104 F.
The rhomboid and shrimps were dead already. I came back just in time to see my two C.earleis take their last breathe. They died inches apart. The Terelabrus struggled terribly, flopping behind the rocks where it remains. I'm sure it's dead now too. So I gathered those I could and gave them a proper burial.
Strange enough, the black tang and the joculator angel did not seem effected at all. I have coral bleaching events, as expected, but surprisingly less then half a dozen corals look severely damaged. The crabs lived. The snails lived. The clam lived.
This month has been a really really bad one.
