I'm just checking my overflow where my suction and return pipes are located. On the pipes there is much green algae and after looking in with a flash light notice a few white worms i assume tube worms. i have not cleaned the iniside of the overflow for about 18 months. should I throughly clean this area.
i do use brushes to clean in between the overflow and the inlets at lower middle and bottom, its just the inside of the overflow I have cleaned. Not sure whether to clean or not.

I always used cleaning mine as a nutrient export, i.e. when you clean out the algae, you are removing those nutrients from the tank.
