Hitchhiker tunicate that reproduces pretty well. Looks superficially like Valonia, but it grows in sheets as well as bubbles. Each tiny bubble is a single zooid. :D

Hey Matt, are these soft or hard to the touch? I may have some of these growing on my rocks as well (very tight, colonial, valonia-looking things).

Your camera phone doesn't show enough detail but from your description it sounds like a member of the Family: Didemnidae, possibly a species of Diplosoma or Trididemnum.

Well, damn, I've seen these guys turn up before but I'd always assumed they were algae. Whodathunkit.

Ah, my bad. These are algae. Not sure of the exact species or even genus. I got confused when I was talking with someone about them.

It has a macro feature. It's the new Sony Ericsson something or other.
