I'm moving soon and I need to ship some of my corals to their new home. The new tank is set up already. I'm worried about shipping the stoney corals because I fear they might puncture the bags. Should I find some way to float them in the bag? How thick mil bags should i use? The corals include some SPS and some LPS corals, none are bigger then 4 to 5 inches. Any tips on shipping stoney corals would is appreciated.

Do you have to ship them or can you drive them? I used a power inverter and literally set up tanks (rubber maid) in the back of my truck for my 1000 mile journey. I took all of my LR, five fish, one anenome, and alot of various soft and stony corals. I didnt lose a single critter. It was well worth the time.

If you decide to ship, you can rubberband the base of your stony corals to a piece of styrofoam, so that it hangs upside down. If the styrofoam is large enough, it'll keep the coral from rubbing against all sides of the bag.
