im setting up a 210 gal reef ,im want to do filtration under the stand ,using a pro clear 300 wet dray and pro clear "mud sump" 300 fuge, the dual "mega flow" over flows in the all glass aquarium are rated at max 1200 gph.....

i want to have the tank drain into the wet dry then be pumped into the fuge from the wet dry then returnd to the display with a pump in the fuge .....

would the pump in the wet /dry and the pump in the fuge returning water to the tank have to be the same size,

i'm not sure on this, but that is a hard question to answer, you have to take into consideration the length of return tubes, height differences..things like that. you might put limiting valves on both and adjust to your satisfaction.

I'm no expert, but isn't it desireable to have lower turnover in the fuge than the turnover through the aquarium/filter? I would put a smaller pump in the fuge pumping to and from either the sump or the aquarium. Trying to balance the flow of two pumps sounds problematic; you'd probably have to make flow adjustments all the time. Please tell me if my thinking is wrong because I'm a reef-newby trying to decide how to incorperate a refugium for my 125 gal.

The way you are proposing I think you are asking for trouble. If it were me I would have one drain to the sump and the other to the fuge. Have the Fuge drain to the sump them use one pump to pump it back to the tank.

my revised plan from the one i posted about is to have both drains drain into a fuge then have the fuge drain into the wet dry,by cutting holes in the acrylic
and installing bulkheads to connect the two,i think a problem may be that the drain lines into the sump are above the water lvl in the fuge since the wet dry is taller then the fuge any sugesstons ...thx
