What is a myth buster? What make the saltwater/ice mixture a myth buster? It has been around for centuries :? Check out some icecream maker, same method.

No the theory was that you could cool a 6 pack the fastest by spraying it with a fire extinguisher. The myth busters proved it is actually faster to chill a 6 pack by putting it in a cooler of ice with salt added. It chilled faster and colder than other methods.

It wasn't that the saltwater cooling the beer was a myth, it was a myth about the fastest way to cool beer in general.

Lots of different methods were used and tested. Burying the cans in sand soaked with gasoline and lighting it on fire. CO2 extinguishers, titanium rods, etc etc.

I was just commenting that the salted water with ice in it was the fastest and most effective method since the topic was what temperature does saltwater freeze at.
