Well, then you could look at a mag 12 (300GPH at 13' head) or the 18 (660GPH at 13' head), if you wanted to go that route. I'd def. vouch for them. :)

Are you looking at a 14' total head distance? If so, the 18 would be the way to go. And you're right, the Eheim 1262 tops out at 900GPH and under 12' of head drive.

Well, to be fair, I technically do not know how much total head feet I have between the tank and sump. I can guesstimate.

Lets see...

1 foot of vertical flexible tube leading from pump to the outside of the sump. Then, it changes to PVC of the same ID for another foot. It then goes through a T which splits the flow into 2 hoses 18" and 20 " long. Each of these end in a 45 degree elbow which is then reduced from a 3/4 " output to a 1/2 " output of Loc-Line curved into the tank.

Does anyone want to give guessing my output from that pump a try.
It starts out at 0 head with 1330 GPH.

The Quietone 5000 can empty the sump of water ( 20 gallons) in about a minute. So that means that it is at least pushing 1200 GPH, Right?

That would be awesome, except that the Quiet One family of pumps is not listed

I used the Dolphin AM 1200 though sice it's specs are close.
It came out 680 GPH. 9.6 head feet.

Well, I went to the LFS and they had a replacement impellar for my pump (believe it or not :D )
I will put it in tonight and we will find out if there is any change in noise.
I am hoping for the best.

It's a 5000 I am sure. I have the box still in my Tupperware tub-o-fish stuff.
Maybe I have less head feet than I think I do.
From the surface of the sump water to the surface of the tank water is a little over 3 feet. Other than that, there is not much resistance in the lines...
