I've got a 46gal bowfront with 206watts pc (110w fixture and 96w fixture). 50/50 bulbs in the 110w and 10,000k buld in the 96w. 50/50's are on from noon to 10pm, the 10,000k is on from 4pm to 9pm.
Alk = 4, calcium = b/w 360 and 380, nitrate <5, no nitrite or ammonia. I drip kalk to maintain my levels, although calcium has been difficult to maintain in the 400 level
About 50lbs lr, 1-2" ls, 14gal sump with skimmer and refugium area.
The question is, within the first year of the tank the corraline took off, covering most of the back glass and a good covering on the rocks. In the last year or so it died back considerably and has not come back on the rocks or back glass. It does grow on the front glass where a ph is pointed, but essentially nowhere else. I mean some of the lr has no corraline at all???
So what is the deal. The tank has been up for 2 years and with the exception of some xenia, all softies and lps are doing great. Any advice? The biggest die back did occur when I added the 96watt fixture to the system (about 14 months ago). Could it have something to do with my bulb rotation ( I replace the 96w in September and the 2 55watts in January).
Anything else I can do to enhance the growth of the nice colors?
Thanks in advance
