I've had my magnificent anemone for about 6 months now, and before that, it was in another tank for several years. Yesterday I fed it some silversides. This morning it was fine, but this afternoon it deflated itself to essentially being flat. Its mouth is still closed, but it did disgorge some food. Is this just a case of not liking the food, or is it something else?

Any thoughts? Thanks!

It could be just going to the bathroom. MY BTA deflates from time to time. IIRC that is part of the way they clean out.

my guess is a tad of overfeeding

as wazz said, anemones do deflate and inflate fairly often, most likely to help get rid of wastes (think internal water change ;) ) also possibly to filter feed (?)

I'm going to take a stab and say a magnificent anemone is a ritteri?
