Many wild caught fish are very bashful at first.

I have an Atlantic Blue Tang that tooks months to stop hiding. Now he's just like any other tang, all over the place.

Give it time.

I had a French Angel in my 75 with a small leopard shark back in the eighties. Awesome fish. It grew to about 8" before I traded it in for a Panther Grouper. The shark was in the tank for almost two years and was about 2" when I sold him 8O. I'll, of course never do that again.

A captive raised individual, remotely possible but I'd bet the farm against it. A wild caught adult - most definitely not. They are spongivores, they pick at things...
