silicon dry time

i am having problems with my overflow and im going to have to lower my water level and attach it back with some silicon--i have read of what types and such to use but im wondering how long ill have to take my sump offline so to speak to get the overflow siliconed on and dried is 24 hrs long enuff or should it be longer?

if anyone has any good ideas that would be helpfull

It all depends on how thick you apply the silicone. If you have a thick bead I'd go 48 hrs. Also depends on how much the repair is exposed to air. If you have it applied to an edge where it's not exposed you're better off going 48 hrs as well to be be on the safe side.
