Super glue gel.... Help!

Well went to the LFS today and got some hold fast epoxy to glue my LR together and that stuff Sucks :!: bad yeah it gets hard but it doesn’t stick! any ways...


Does the superglue gel from the store cure underwater?

Yeah, I hear ya. The problem with epoxy is that it has absolutley zero adhesiveness. It just isn't sticky.

Superglue gel will work underwater, but if you're attaching large/heavy pieces then you may want to try a combination of epoxy and superglue, like this:

Rock/SG/Epoxy/SG/Rock

This works better because the glue sticks to the rock better than the epoxy, and the epoxy stick to the glue better than the rock.

But my rocks are all in place I just want to glue them so they don’t fall over its just support.

You can try letting the epoxy begin to set before submerging it. It will heat up, and strat to thicken as it sets. Wait until you feel it setting a little before sticking it underwater. That should help a little.

use a two part like aquastik.... but mix it with superglue... and presto insta hold stuff.... just mash the two part between what you want together and let it sit.... in or out of water and it will hold....

I still dont get why people use that suprglue stuff for live rock etc...get "holdfast".

Works great for everything, works underwater, cures in 7 or so minutes.

Perfect for anything you want to get into place easily.

Did you read what I said about that "its junk"...
It has zero adhesiveness!

I wouldn't attempt to stack rocks with epoxy or gel unless you use unreasonable amounts of it. A little epoxy for stability, sure, but to counteract gravity? (ie it naturally wants to fall) then no way.

Drill holes, use fiberglass rods, or something else.
