I had a couch in front of mine but was considering something taller. I didn't think that bar stools would be comfortable enough, though. :)

What do you guys have in front of your tank in order to view it? Or do you just stand and wonder? :D

I have a bar stool :) No, it's not super comfy, but I tend to forget about it when I'm mesmerized by my tank :)

Do you keep the stool in front of the tank at all times or just bring it out when you're staring? :)

My tank is in the living room near the hall to the office. I must stop and stare at least twice in the morning and three times after work for a total of near a half and hour of standing.

A bar stool sounds appealing but I built the base at 42" so the top rim is at eye level. I guess Im stuck standing.

A couch back was just about the right height I found. So if you have the couch facing the other end of the room (TV end say), you have an excellent perch to go into a trance watching the tank. :)

Mine is in the dining room and I have a chair permanently facing the tank at the far end of the table. I also sit at the head of the table for all meals and conveniently can stare at the tank throughout dinner lol.

I am planning a couple of comfy chairs for the what used to be dining room. Since my tank is so tall I just stand. My kids use a step ladder.

my tank is set up in the tv room next to my chair, I get a good side view although my clowns are always stalking me. I have a dining room chair in the front that I use to put my shoes on in the morning.

How tall of comfy chairs, Mark? :)

Just regular height, but they will be across the room. I may move a bar stool from the kitchen for close up viewing.

This also goes out to people that used to have tanks but don't anymore. Or those who just stand now...

What did you use for sitting/leaning in front of the tank? :D

since i rarely ever watch tv anymore, and the tank is opposite the tv, i just reversed that chair you see. or you can sit on this chase at the end of the couch in the foreground. :)

My 180 is on the far wall in the livingroom with a couch completely across the room from it. I can watch TV or just look over at the tank from there. If I want to get close I take a chair from the dining room and plop it right up in front of the tank.

We had bean bag chairs for our first tank. Then we just stand for this one. It's tall enough.
