They're more expensive then glasscages, but less expensive then oceanic. They are both high-quality manufacturers. I personally figure that if I'm getting something this big that will last a long time, might as well spend a bit for quality
This may be the worst flamed post of the entire history of reef.org.
So....here it goes.
My family used to own a fish store. The "rule of thumb" was to sell tanks and stands at cost (or a little above) and make your money on the livestock and supplies.
So.....this is what you want to do......find out what size tank you want and shop around.
Once you find the "cheapest" price, start looking in your local newspaper for 'used" systems.
That big of a tank is not obscene enought to warrant "spazzy" worriness.
I've got a 210 AGA from my LFS and it's just fine. My wifey worked in the corporate division, so I got an employee discount.
If you want to go one step further.......consider getting a part-time job at a local store. You may get an "at cost" discount. Plus, it's pretty fun teaching folks the "real deal" about marine fish.
