red sea salt

hi, just bought a bucket of red sea salt (on sale and didn't sound any worse then crappy instant ocean i was using) and it says to mix 1.4 pounds to 5 gallons of water, thats great, of course measure it with salt meter but can someone tell me what amount is 1.4 pounds? ie in cups of red sea salt? i don't have a scale, i assume around a cup but if someone knows that would be great

It's typically around 2-2.5 cups per 5 gallons. You should test with a refractomer though.
