Shut all pumps and let the water get calm first. Also, some people use plastic bags or containers to submerge the sand and let it out near the bottom of the tank rather than just dumping it in. Helps to minimize the cloudiness. You can also use a piece of PVC pipe like a funnel to basically do the same thing.

I also have the sand alreaady wetted with either RO water or the water chage I am about to make. This also cuts down on the cloudiness.

When I was going to add sand I was going to use a piece of PVC pip like 1.5 in and put it in the tank to the bottom and pour the sand into it slowly.

I wouldn't have chosen RO water to soak LS. Wouldn't you be killing the Life? WC water for sure.

Oops  Didn't notice it was live sand.

Why would you want to spend money on live sand? Do have no sand bed now?
