I was browsing through The Reef Aquarium (Delbbeek and Sprung) and I believe it said you could kill aiptasia by inserting a copper wire into them and holding it there for a couple of minutes. Has anyone tried this method with decent results?

Are their any dangers associated with too much copper coming off the wire and being added to the tank?

Don't take my advise completely, but I'd think if you wanted to try it that you should make a separate container of saltwater to put the rock in and use the wire on. And rinse well before putting the rock back in the tank. But if it wasn't completely dead it may just regrow anyway.

I honestly don't see how that would work. But putting a copper wire isn't going to hurt your tank unless left in there to erode.

Yeah, I don't see how that could work, copper will kill bacteria but aiptasia isn't just a big bacteria.. but if you saw it, I'd be intersted in a link

Give it a try and let us know what happens.
I don't think your tank would be endangered by trying.
