I have noticed that two of my acros have been slowly receding at the base but not as though they have RTN or anything. It seems as though the tissue is healthy but is slowly receding at the bottom of the coral. I have done some research on flatworms and red bugs but don’t know what to think. I am trying to get some pictures posted. Any ideas? Is this something I should worry about?

A bacterial infection. I believe I have two corals doing that. Unfortunately they are encrusted and I cant do an iodine dip. It seems like SUPER STN.

I think it would be better than to do nothing and slowly watch your corals die like I have been doing.
In my case, one of the corals is very large and I am just waitng until the inevitable chopping it into 5 medium sized corals.
On the other coral I will just end up with a few small frags. I keep hoping they will fight it off all on their own with good water quality and lots of WCs.

Like I said, super slow tissue necrosis. Ive been watching this closely for a few months.

Does anyone know anymore about this? It is hapening so slow that the areas grow algae and you never actually see the white skeleton. I did a lugols dip on both of them so I guess I will see if that helps.
