The seios i got are a little harsh when it comes to direct flow...im looking for something a little more spread out. WHat would you reccomend? im stuck between 2 koralia 4 PH or 1 Tunze 6060...i dont have experience with either brand so i was just checking if anyone had info on them.

any input is appreciated...thanks

i love the koralias. in my opinion, they can't be beaten for the price. a tunze will run you quite chunk of change. the koralias are cheaper, use very little energy, come with rotating magnet mounts, and put out a lot of gentle but efficient flow.

i have two #3s and one #4 in my 90 gallon mixed reef. this setup provides enough flow for my sps corals but gentle enough flow for my mushrooms and sandbed (to not blow up all over the place).

Tunze.

The unit is smaller, it has a much stronger magnet, and they have some of the best customer service anywhere. For a bit more money you'll have a superior product that will last you many years. If you have a problem, the parts to fix it are sent to you no questions asked.

wow...thats customer service...i was leaning toward the tunze, but the price tag of the koralias just made it so dang tempting...1 smaller tunze = 3 koralia 4's...real tempting...

it would be cool to have alternating ones, but ive read you cant use the 6060 or 6080 on the single controler...

I have both and IMO this is a case of getting what you pay for. The Tunze is a higher quality product and IME requires much less frequent cleanings (coralline build-up). The Tunzes move more water, but their flow is also more concentrated.

I like my Tunze. It's a 6200 so out of the size range you are looking for. I have not tried the koralias so no experience there.

I have two TUNZE 6045's on a 125 and they are great. Another benefit (I believe) with the tunze is the 6025 and 6045 are smaller than the Koralia.

Chris, is the flow pattern of the koralias wider thank your tunze?

im looking for massive watermovement but more of a wider flow...i might experiment and buy 1 of each...ill play with the flows from there...the seios i have now are strong but it is more of a jet of water for the first 10''.. i know the fish dont mind the flow, but im sure the corals would not like a PH drilling into them since they can move out of the way as a fish can.

Yeah, for sure. The Tunze 6060 has a tighter flow pattern near the pump and moves a lot more water overall. IMO the Koralias are probably better suited to smaller tanks - I don't find they move enough water in my 180. The more forceful flow of the Tunzes keeps things moving better in bigger tanks.

I actually have a couple of Koralia 4s sitting around now that I was planning to sell (I used them in my 180 FOWLR for maybe a couple of months). Shoot me a PM if you're interested.
