Also, as a note...I stared this tank with that pre-packaged 'natural seawater' that's being sold. Some people have reported great coralline growth with it, so I figured I'd try it. Four of the jugs nearly filled the whole tank, with 2.5 gallons of distilled water added to top it off.

So, are you happy with that package/upgrade on the tank Chip? how's the construction?

Looks solid so far. The only complaint I have is no switch for the PCs or the LED moonlights. They plug in and are on constantly. I'll be hooking them both up to timers, tho, which is probably why there are no switches. :D

The stand is awesome, and this package is a steal IMHO. The tank is great, the wavemaker & skimmer are very nice bonuses, dual return nozzles, 3-compartment filter basket that's easily removable...etc.

Over time I'll comment more, but right out of the box it's very impressive, especially for the price with free shipping.

Peace,

Chip

Don't you all find it odd that my tank is less than 24 hours old and already I have more pics up than Len has of his tank?

:P

Is that a metal halide light as well crammed into that hood? I thought about that as well for my nano (12g) but I worried being so close to the plastic hood would melt it.

150w 14k halide, yes. So far people have been running halides in these nanos with no ill effects. If they did, NanoCustoms would be out of business. :D

Did I owe everyone frags before I went in for psychiatric treatment, or what? It seems like I owe everyone something, and I can't remember a thing.

Okay, Bingo...first frags from those boys are yours.

Yeah, about 4 months worth, every week. Was on meds. Got me thru a lot of stuff after my engagement blew up and I was broke without a place to live. Good thing my folks were down here.

I thinned out the aquascape a bit to make more of a crescent. The first corals arrive tomorrow. :D

Thanks man! I like it too. The more I plan this tank out, the more I'm liking how few corals & fish I can fit in it to let them all grow out. I won't be spending as much as I thought.

Here's a better shot to compare with the pic in my first post :

It's amazing how such a small rearrangement makes such a big difference in how you feel about your aquascaping. :D

Chip
