My tank is a 65 gallon reef with all soft corals. I'm going to buy a new in sump skimmer and there are two sizes available for the model I'm getting - one that is recommended for tanks up to 110 gallons and another up to 210. Because the larger skimmer pumps about twice as much per hour (600 vs 317gph) and is 4 inches taller, do you think its worth it to spend a little extra?? I'm wondering if the larger skimmer would be more benificial to my tank or if it's all the same after a certain point.

You can't have too much skimmer, so if you can afford it, go bigger.

If you went bigger, when you eventually go with a bigger tank, the same skimmer will work for that tank too.

If you have other goodies to buy, you might want to save on the skimmer then so you can get what you need.

As always, you get what you pay for. Id spend the little extra and feel good knowing I am keeping my water as clean as possible for my reef inhabitants

Only thing is, all you have are soft corals and they don't need insane skimming. Usually a little dirty is better. However, if you do get the bug to upgrade or get some non-soft corals, you will like the better skimmer.
