A buddy of mine had the same skimmer and said it does have a problem being a bit noisey. It skimmed great. Thick, dark and all...He eventually switched to a larger Euro Reef...im not sure which model it was but his Euro Reef preformed just as good, only the skimmate was always on the wet side...It was alot quieter as well..
