It's been a Looong time since I've been on the forum. Hope eveyone is doing well. :)

I'm looking to upgrade my lighting setup for my 46 gal bow. I currently have soft and LPS corals but I've had a couple die off and I'd like upgrade from my current 2 - 50/50 65W compacts.

My options I'm looking at are:

- Coralife 36 Inch Aqualight W/ 2-96W Sq. Pin Base And 2-3/4W Lunar Blue-Moon-Glow LED Lamps

- 36 inch 2x96 Watt Current USA PowerCompact Orbit Fixture

- 36 inch 4x96 Watt Current USA PowerCompact Orbit Fixture

What's my best bet?

Will any of these setups allow me to get into Acro's?

Thanks!!

how deep is the tank? You have power compacts now. if you're not going to step up to MH, go with T5's. they'll have enough punch for lps.

The tank is 12 in deep on the sides and 15 at the front of the bow.

With 2 - 96K compacts would that allow for me to get SPS corals or do they require MH only or can T5's also work on SPS's?

i think bingo means how deep is it from the top of the tank to the sand bed.

some people have success with T5's and sps.

I wouldn't try to keep SPS with PCs. They simply don't put out enough PAR to keep SPS healthy over the long term. I've had success with T5s and seen many others who have beautiful SPS tanks with T5 lighting if you want to go the florescent route (I would suggest overdriving them, though). Metal Halides are of course the most popular choice.

Switched out my pc on my 46g bow for Nova extreme pro 6bulb T5's. Absolutely love it.
