Ok so I have been battling this cloudy water for 6 months plus now with little improvement. I have never had this problem before with any of my past tanks. So this is the situation. My water will go from cloudy to clear over night and sometimes stay cloudy for a week at a time. I have tested ammonia levels when the tank is cloudy and for the most part they show 0ppm but sometimes they are slightly elevated under .25ppm. So far what I have done is just extensive water changes. The tank is a 90 gal and I have been doing 30 gal changes and also one 55 gal change. I have probably done over 12 of these changes over the past 6 months the last change being 5 weeks ago which was the 55 gal change. I am using RO/DI water for all my changes and top offs. I even recently changed all my filters on my 5 stage unit. I have also tried running carbon after each change with no luck. I will get excited a day after the water change because the tank will clear up but then it gets cloudy again within 3 days. I am just so frustrated with this situation and am thinking about starting all over again. Any advice would be appretiated. Thanks

I would start looking at some of my LR to see if any are dissolving at a rapid rate.

Just a thought. :?
