I was recnetly given a I think 70gal tank it is 48" long, 12" wide, and 29" tall. All I have now is the tank, stand, two wavemaker power strips, and an overflow missing parts, but the guy that gave it to me, said he also has a canopy some mh halide lights, a sump, and a few other things that he will be giving me. So if he comes through I will be in this tank for very little. Im not sure what kind of mh he has but I know that that I am going to use mh and pc and lunar lights so I can go throught the cycle of the day with the sun setting and rising. One question I have with the depth of the tank, I believe I will need to go with 400w mh to light the bottom half of the tank or will 250w be fine? I have been looking at the aqua-c ev180 protien skimmer, Is this a good one? All that I have had in the past are nano tanks, i currently have a 24 gal aquapod. I ahve been wanting to set up a 120 gal or bigger tank but dont have the funds to do that right now. I guess that I am saying that I have doubts about setting this one up only to do it all over again in a couple years. but then on the side I think if I oversize everything I will be set up for a new tank when it comes time for it.
Thanks.

250 would be good. 400 would be way to0 much in my opinion.

aqua-c180 is a good skimmer but i am not a fan as i had one but never liked how i to adjust it every now and then.
