Lighting options

Where can I get info on the different lighting systems available? I have a 55 gallon with a center brace I would rather spend the money now and have more options in the future but I am pretty overwhelmed...MH T5 VHO HO ??????????? any recomendations

It depends on what you are keeping in the tank

I have no coral yet but am def planning on moving in that direction, i just don't want to be limited on what I can or cant get based on lighting

Your biggest issue is that a 55 is a really thin tank. Your best bet with 150/175w metal halides or T5 HO's/T12 VHO's. I would lean towards 4 48" T5 HO's an then when you upgrade all you have to do is add more t5's or use the t5's you already have for actinic supplementation.
