Hey all,

I bought a used Coralife fixture for a tank I am doing from a local reefer here, and when I got it I saw the acrylic lense has one corner cracked off. The piece was stuck in the fixture itself. I wonder what I would use to try and mend it, or shouldn't I bother? I worry if I don't fix that lense the fixture will be prone to corrosion.

Thanks...

if it is acrylic, you can bond it back together with acryllic adhesive, just put brush a bit on both pieces, let set for about 30 seconds, the put them together and let them set up.

Should be easy to fix if you can pull the broken piece out. If you can't get the acrylic solvent/cement, CrazyGlue will work too, if the acrylic is thick enough.

It's very thin, that's why I didn't think superglue would work. I do have the piece and it matches with no gaps.

Oh, just use a adhesive tape and tape them together and you will be all set if it is at the corner, and you won't notice it. You are a big girl, and should be able to handle these minor blemishes on your reef setup :D
