No, I've not been to Taco Bell recently. I've noticed a new phenomenon in one of my tanks that I've never experienced before. I have many gas bubbles and even gas pockets building up in my substraight. This started about a week after I upgraded the lights to a high end system - Metal Halide Lamps with True Actinic 03 Blue Compact Fluorescent Lamps. I'm not seeing an alga bloom which isn't a surprise, but I've never seen this gas build up before and I don't know if it's related or not. I've seen a few bubbles here and there, but never like this - it's actually starting to steadily bubble up and most of my rocks are now showing a coating of small bubbles in places. Everything seems healthy, my levels are all great and I recently did a water change so I'm perplexed. Any ideas?

TIA!

It is normal for well-lighted tank. Some says the gas bubble is O2, some says it is N2. Nothing to concern about.

Is it normal for it to get caught up on the rocks and such? It doesn't exactly look very attractive. I'm wondering if I don't need to add a few new friends that will stir the sand a bit more to let it out - maybe a tiger tail or two. Thoughts?

Bubbles stick to rock work usually due to lack of water circulation and/or cyano or bacterial film on the rock.

how much flow?
