Does everyone dip their corals before introducing them to the main tank and how do you go about doing it.

I should, but i've never dipped or q'd anything before putting it into the display.. I've also never had an issue arise because of it.

I'm just waiting haha.

I use TMPCC for 30 minutes, and if I have interceptor I do that as well. I also break them off the base or mount they come in on if they are mounted and toss it away. This is for my SPS system.

For my softie tanks I just float the back for a bit and then drop them in.

What he said!
Nothing like losing $5000 worth of corals because of a $25 frag..

just keep thoseStupid Pokey Sticks out of your aquarium then you don't have the problem!

I dropped some wild harvested mushrooms into my tank a year or so ago. Now I have flatworms and the largest case of bryopsis ever. I had to remove all my rock and cook it to get rid of both.

Now each bag gets one drop of FWE and LPS gets a 30 second freshwate dip.

i would dip and quarantine everything if possible. i didn't dip my corals and ended up with a small outbreak of redbugs. a few interceptor treatments and a bunch of dead crustaceans later, i rid myself of the sps pests and now dip all my corals with whatever i have to dip them in. i'd hate to have a hitch hiker come in a wipe out my tank.
