Rose anemone invasion! What should I do?

Hi,
I got my first anemones last year. It's in a 25 gallon and it looks like it love it's home.
Over the last year, it has split a few times and I now have 3. I am sure I'll have some new ones soon.
It's now a problem for my coral. One of them killed my really nice finger leather and the other one move a little each month (an inch or two) and kill many button polyps each time.

I can't remove the rocks so I am looking for a way to remove the anemones from their rocks so I can donate them.

Any idea how to do this?

Try and sell them, they've really skyrocketed in price, anywhere from $50-150 depending upon size!

Use ice cubes in a bag along the anemone's foot and it should let go of the rock.

8O Amazing! I assumed that was cheap due to threir rapid reproduction. Someone gave me one for free so I never checked at the cost.
Anyway, I live in the canadian arctic so there is no big chance I find a buyer unless I sell it to someone in an other provinces for $10 (add shipping and it now worth $100) :?
Maybe I should setup an anemones tank :roll:

Hey Anemonebuff, will that ice cube trick in a bag work for pusating xenia also? I have one that is walking across the rocks and getting close to a torch coral. Also, is there any danger of them touching each other??

No it does not work with xenia. For xenia you will need to cut them near the base and glue them to a new rock with superglue. Dry the xenia with a paper towel first. Keep the newly glued xenia out of water for about 30 seconds to cure correctly. The xenia stumps will probably grow back on the original rock.

If your xenia is moving, it is not xenia. If it is growing towards your torch, they will have chemical warfare and one will perish eventually.
