I have some red membrane looking algae growing in my tank. I have figured out it is Porphyra perforata, a membranous red alga from the rocky intertidal zone of southern California. In Japan, species of Porphyra called "nori" are cultivated for food. Right: Crackers wrapped in nori and package of nori sheets used for wrapping sushi. (coppied that last bit from the web :D. Anyway.. will this hurt my tank or is it an indication that there are other problems? Its a 10g reef with 1 clown, and Im way past due on a water change..

Thanks
Sam

Well, algae takes nutrients to grow so that easily could be the issue. Have you tested your water lately? I am not at all familiar with that type of macro, so I haven't a clue as to how invasive it gets.
