I have an Aqualight Pro 72 in with 250 watt 10k bulbs. I replaced the bulbs with 14k current usa 250 watt. Now the bulbs periodically cycle.. Why is this happening? Did I miss something? Are the ballasts overheating? Thanks for the help

Sounds like a bad bulb, bad ballast, or a bad combination. It is difficult to tell which is the problem, unless you have another bulb and another ballast to test it. Put the old 10 k bulb back in, and see if you have the same problem, or it goes away. If you have the same flicking problem with the old bulb, it is probably your ballast, otherwise, it is the new bulb, or you need to make sure the ballast is compatible with any bulb you buy. Good luck.

or maybe just bad wiring somewhere, I had a PFO ballast years ago that had a bad switch and this would happen.

Thatis a possibility too. Check connection to the bulb too.

All three bulbs are doing it. When the bulbs go out, I can see an arc in the bulb and it will come back on within 2 minutes. It seems very random with restarting. I know the ballasts are for hqi bulbs and i bought the right wattage.
