The video would not have been nearly as interesting without the music....

:D
:( What music?

Ok, bummage ensues. I am unable to properly view or listen to the vids. I'm using Firefox on Gutsy Gibbon, if that makes a difference. Is there a codec I'm missing or something like that? I want to see the flamboyant cuttlefish!

Food, glorious food!
Hot sausage and mustard!
While we're in the mood --
Cold jelly and custard!
Pease pudding and saveloys!
What next is the question?
Rich gentlemen have it, boys --
In-di-gestion!

Food, glorious food!
We're anxious to try it.
Three banquets a day --
Our favourite diet!

Just picture a great big steak --
Fried, roasted or stewed.
Oh, food,
Wonderful food,
Marvellous food,
Glorous food.

Food, glorious food!
What is ther emore handsome?
Gulped, swallowed or chewed --
Still worth a kin's ransom.
What is it we dream about?
Wat brings on a sigh?
Piled pieahes and cream , about
Six feet high!

Food, glorious food!
Eat right through the menu.
Just loosen your belt
Two inches and then you
Work up a new appetite.
In this interlude --
The food,
Once again, food
Fabulous food,
Glorious food.

And so on and so forth...

My singing is kind of flat on the interweb.

And the wrong version of the song! :D

Marina, make sure you have quicktime stuff loaded.

According to synaptic and my package manager, I do have the Linux-flavor Quicktime stuff loaded, plus I did a reload after I posted that.
Bummage, I am unable to solve my problem on my own. I'm sure they're great vids, too (even with browncj7's singing).

So, these occys have only one paper on them from around 1976. That paper says that they have a 4-7 day hatching period, but I have been getting hatchlings through day 16. Tonight, I fed the female a freshly dead 'shore' shrimp with tweezers (another difference from the '76 paper - the female is not supposed to feed through brooding), and she came mostly out of her barnacle den. While grabbing the tweezers, the den tipped over, and as she ate, she moved in such a way as to let me see inside of the den. Inside were at least 6 (maybe 9)mature eggs. You can clearly see the soon to hatch occy's inside the eggs. Super spiff!

That's so cool! I love that you can make out their shapes in the eggs. Great pictures! You're so lucky you get to care for these animals.

It was a one nighter Gresh. It's done. Time to move on. Besides, no one wants to see pictures of your "wildlife".

Sher-she-eye

I think. There is much brouhaha about how to pronounce latin names. :D

It will be the rare person who is even going to know anything about this octo. They haven't really been seen in the trade since 86. Hopefully this will be changing with breeding efforts. :D
