I wish I won the lottery lol, I own a toystore and its the holiday season...everything seems good during the holidays lol. That and all I spend my money on is my tanks, my house gets no attention and badly is in need of repairs and new hardwood flooring/carpets. But hey I would rather have a nice tank, thats just me
When i bought it a few hours ago it was on sale for 1199 too, was their last one in stock..guess I will have it in my closet till the tank is here in a few months. I also just bought a second vortech, I was planning on two votechs.
I was at a reefclub members house last night and he uses 2 vortechs and a strong CL on a ocean motion on his 150 SPS system so now I am not sure I dont need to add a third vortech. I will wait and see on that one though. I plan on using my current skimmer, BK Mini 200 ver 2 on the new tank.
So now I need to tile the floor where I want the tank, build and stain a stand, and build a new sump. I want to build a sump with a large fuge, frag tank, skimmer compartment, and probe bracket. I may do the fuge as a seperate tank. Not sure yet. I gotta order that acrylic too. I got a busy few months ahead.
Well I run two vortechs and a koralia (temporary) on my tank same directions as you... it's VERY open though as far as the rockwork (I'll try to get a picture of it if you like), I think I could probably go with 3 vortechs ... but I don't know if I want to plunk down the extra money quite yet ... I don't own a toy store, and when finals week comes around... I don't get paid anymore regardless how frantic the students get So I'm going to try a modded maxijet just to see how much flow that gives. Either way I do have a nice flow pattern in the tank.
Wait until you get your rockwork setup to dictate whether you need that third vortech though... although if you absolutely got money burning a hole in your pocket it couldn't hurt
