Okay...

So my power went out a few days ago (see previous post) and everything went to the crapper from there.

Anthelia clove - it started out being flat against the rock when I came home. I quickly popped on the filter and lights and hoped for the best. I probably had somewhere around 25 heads. I now have one. Yes - one. It seems that everything in the tank enjoys munching on dieing algae.... the emerald crab, pods, snails and oh yeah, two big ass bristle worms. I've watched them grab the clove and rip it off and carry it into the rock. Wonderful.

So my question at this point is - Should I scrape off the remaining bits of the anthelia clove, just let things eat them and have a buffet, or leave them alone and hope they re-grow from the white sludge that has become....

Thanks!

Leave them alone.

They may still rebound (believe it or not).

Will the (potentially and most likely) dieing coral cause any spikes in the water parameters though?

Being that this is a nano tank (5 gallon) it's SUPER sensative to changes...

When I first stocked my 10 gallon tank, I had a couple of different coral "die off" on me. I contributed their deaths to my inexperience. A few months later, I noticed a little stalk popping out of my live rock. Today its a very healthy stalk that came back from the dead.

Hang in there!

I'll take a picture tomorrow morning, (its night time for the tank) and post it for ya
